Head of Environment, Health and Safety

Closing Date

London Biggin Hill Airport are looking for a Head of Environment, Health and Safety to lead and enhance environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, ensuring compliance while driving a strong safety culture across the company.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will be to:


  • Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, arranging interviews, and processing references and candidate correspondence.

  • Coordinate onboarding activities, prepare new starter documentation, and assist with inductions.

  • Maintain accurate personnel records and digital filing systems.

  • Process learning and development requests, schedule training, and collate feedback.

  • Assist with preparing HR reports, data updates, and audit materials.

  • Maintain diaries and key milestones to ensure HR deadlines are met.

  • Provide administrative support for employee events and general HR operations.

  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 in all HR processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:


  • Significant experience in Environment, Health and Safety management.

  • Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience conducting audits, including ISO14001.

  • A proactive approach to driving safety culture and continuous improvement.


It would be nice if the candidate has:


  • A recognised EHS qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).

  • Experience working within aviation or a similarly regulated environment.

  • Experience in leading cultural change initiatives within organisations.

  • Familiarity with working alongside regulatory bodies and external auditors.
